The Wall Street Journal posted an article  about how people are looking to Real Estate to pad their portfolio.  With the incredible appreciation of property values and the low interest rates - the Outer Banks Real Estate market looks like a good bet.

Buying a home - consider the schools

Real Estate on the Outer Banks is driven by tourism.  Many properties are second homes that are rented weekly. 

Dare County is one of the fastest growing counties in eastern North Carolina.  With this in mind - it might be a good idea to consider the schools when making a purchase.  It might be a deciding factor for a buyer when you decide to sell.  You can find information on North Carolina Shools here .

Good article about the investment side of remodeling.  The emotional side is tough to measure but with this information, you should see if you cost can be recouped.
