Residents of Hatteras Island don't want to be stuck without a bridge. The Bonner Bridge has already exceeded it's life expectancy and locals are worried that the Department of Transportation is not moving fast enough. The bridge is considered to be in poor shape and construction on a new bridge is not scheduled to begin until 2008.
