The Outer Banks Republic wrote a post about the differences between a Representative Republic and a true Democracy and how those play into the Beach Nourishment debate going on in Nags Head today. Political Science Class Credit = one hour.
On another note, The Outer Banks Swim Club participated in the ODAC 1 mile ocean swim on Sunday June 17th in Virginia Beach. It was my first visit to our neighbor to the north in many years. Virginia Beach recently completed a beach nourishment project and I was amazed at the quality and size of their beach. We made it back to the Outer Banks in time to cook out with some close friends and spend some quality time on the beach. Not a bad Father's Day at all.

How's Ole Scut Farkus doing these days, Ronnie?
We think you and Scut shouldn't of dropped out of school, cause you guys sure can shoot yer eye out sometimes.
