The North Carolina Turnpike Authority would like to narrow the playing field for where to build the Mid Currituck Bridge. There are currently six options on the table - three on the mainland side and two on the Outer Banks. The bridge construction is scheduled to begin in 2010 with a scheduled opening in the fall of 2013.
